Important Notice: This application requires an existing Avaya Aura, Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya IP Office, or Avaya Definity system to operate effectively. The Avaya Mobility Server is not necessary for this integration.

The Aura Alliance EC500© seamlessly integrates with compatible Avaya systems—specifically Avaya Aura, Communication Manager, Definity, or IP Office—when used in conjunction with the EC500 extension. This setup allows users to leverage their Avaya communication features directly on their iPhone without the need for an additional mobility server.

This application transforms your iPhone into an extension of your office desk phone, enabling you to make and receive calls as if you were at your desk. Users can choose whether to dial out using their office number—ensuring calls are routed through the corporate phone system—or their mobile number.

With EC500, users can dial colleagues directly by extension number, minimizing missed calls and eliminating voicemail loops. The system bridges your Avaya desk phone and iPhone, permitting seamless handoff of active calls between devices. Activation and deactivation of EC500 are controlled directly from the iPhone interface.

Routing via the corporate phone system ensures your Direct Dial In (DDI) number is displayed on outgoing calls and significantly reduces international calling costs. Instead of calling mobile-to-mobile internationally, calls are routed through the company’s telephony infrastructure, optimizing costs.

EC500 offers the ability to differentiate between personal and professional communications. Incoming calls can be identified as social or work-related; extended work calls that are not answered are automatically routed to the corporate voicemail system.

To utilize this application, your office must operate an compatible Avaya system—such as Aura Aura, Communication Manager, or IP Office—configured with EC500. Activation involves following detailed setup procedures to enable and tailor EC500 settings within your telephony environment.

• Configure EC500 on your Communication Manager—potentially requiring assistance from your Avaya maintenance provider.
• Access the Aura Alliance EC500© application, open it, and navigate to Menu > Settings.
• Manually input all relevant codes and numbers as provided by your phone system’s pre-programmed EC500 configuration.
